With
international top dressage
stallions like Jazz, May Sherif, Ferro and Roemer in his pedigree,
Manhattan has all that it takes for a promising dressage horse.
His dam line originates from KWPN breeding family 1633. With
a dressage index of 165 (KWPN table 2013), dam
Vidora is in the top 200 of best KWPN dressage mares
in her category. Dam Vidora as well as granddam Nivaldora showed
dressage at Z2 level.
Manhattan is a 75% brother of KWPN approved stallion and licensing reserve champion (autumn
2017) Joyride EH
(a son of Vidora by Ampère).
Manhattan's
great granddam Rolanda gave the small tour dressage horse
Flying Dutchman (by Zevenster), and also the Grand Prix dressage horse Privaldi (by
Gribaldi), which holds the 236th position on the
WBFSH-list of dressage horses (2012). A full sister of Rolanda's dam
Joliza gave the international GP show jumping mare Ferina (by Ramiro).
Joyride's dam's sire Jazz has sucessfully
shown Grand Prix with two different riders, and more and more
of his offspring reach the highest levels in international Grand Prix,
like Parzival with Adelinde Cornelissen and many more. From her dam's
side she also carries the world famous Doruto blood in the 4th
generation.
Manhattan's sire
Franklin is a licensing champion who has scored a 10 for
his trot at a stallion competition. At his performance test in november
2013, which he won with 86.5 points, he was rewarded with 7 for his
walk, 8.5 for trot, 9.5 for canter and self-carriage and balance, and a
9 for his rideability and for potential as a dressage horse. He
continued to excel under the saddle and, in february 2015, he won the
KWPN stallion championship final for 5 year-olds, where he was awarded
9.5 for trot, 8 for walk and 8.5 for canter, rideability and general
impression. Franklin is incredibly uphill, with a hindleg showing
abundant power, push and spring. He has a phenomenal, powerful canter,
which he passes on to his offspring. Franklin is a breathtaking
beautiful son of the much sought-after Ampère, who combines
looks with trainability and performance. Franklin's sire Ampère is a
world class champion stallion. This eye-catching stallion steels the
show wherever he steps into the spotlights. It all started when he left
the arena as the most expensive foal at the foal auction in Borculo. In
February 2008 at the stallion show Den Bosch he became the convincing
champion of the stallion show. After that, Ampère became the
undoubtable
winner of the 70 day performance test in Ermelo. Dream notes mark his
extraordinary qualities: walk 8, trot 9, canter 9.5, suppleness 9, self
carriage & balance 8.5, rideability and work ethics 9, talent for
dressage 9. With his modern riding horse type, he has proven the title
top stud to be justified. Already at the age of 8, Ampère has 3
KWPN approved sons: Electron (Ampère x Fidermark), Fellini
(Ampère x Jazz) and Franklin
(Ampère x Ferro), who was champion of the dressage stallions in
the
2013 autumn performance test. In 2013 Atomic (Ampère x Tolando)
won the VSN trophy, and his daughters Fynona (Ampère x Gribaldi)
and Fimosa (Ampère x Quattro) both became overall champion of
the KWPN CK in their province.
Franklin's dam-sire Ferro is a
dressage legend who competed at the
highest level, including the Olympics and European Championships under
Coby van Balen, and then went on to become one of dressage's major
foundation sires. He produced a dressage dynasty, with his most notable
offspring being, among others, Negro (=sire of Valegro!), Kennedy,
Rousseau and Rhodium.
Unfortunately Manhattan's dam Vidora
passed away when he was only 1 day
old, due to internal bleeding in the uterus. A delayed and rare
birth complication with a shocking outcome. We found a foster mare who
took care of Manhattan and nourished him during the first months till
weaning, so he still had a good start of his life.
Manhattan received the D-OC predicate with a DNA score of
101, he was
x-rayed (including neck and back) in july 2019, all 100% clean.
Manhattan is wffs free.
In july 2019 Manhattan was x-rayed including neck & back, all 100%
clean (see PROK
report), he received the KWPN PROK predicate with very good scores.
