Based
on German top dressage stallions like Donnerhall and Rubinstein I,
and with a
sire from a preferred dam line (Edosta-line x Dodona-line through
Romancier),
Copacabana has a
pedigree to dream of.
The Edosta-line is one of the best Oldenburger dam lines, which has
given more than 10 approved stallions in Germany, and also several
international dressage horses, among which
Petit Prince (Olympic competitor with Ellen Bontje), and Grand Prix
winner Avignon.
The
Dodona-line has given several world famous international Grand
Prix horses,
among which Rembrandt (2 x Olympic Champion with Nicole Uphoff),
Ahlerich (2 x Olympic Champion with Dr.
Reiner Klimke) and Amon (Olympic competitor with Annemarie Keizer). The
Dodona line is
being seen as worlds best breeding line for dressage horses. Copacabana
has Dodona genes from both sides: from her dam's
side through Rubinstein I and from her sire's
side through
Romancier. Further in the pedigree of Copacabana, we see Cardinal XX as
sire of Carolina; Cardinal XX has been commonly used in Germany for
refinement, he has many approved sons.
Copacabana as
well as her mother were decorated with a Fohlenprämie as a foal at
the
Oldenburger foal show. She combines fabulous
movements
with an excellent temperament. Her dam, the Oldenburger
Staatsprämie
mare
Carolita II by Donnerhall (sportsname Dolorosa) was sold to the
Netherlands as a 4 year old at the famous Vechta auction in 2004 (see
picture below, from auction catalog). She
has competed successfully in Dutch dressage at Z level. Copacabana is
her second
foal, her first foal by Florencio also gained a Fohlenpremie
(Oldenb.). In august 2010 Carolita II was awarded "Elite" by the
Oldenburger studbook.
Copacabana´s popular sire Fürst
Romancier did very well at
the World Campionships of Young Dressage horses in Verden in 2009, he
won the Opening of the 5 year old Championships and gained an
overall 4th place. The
bay sire became the Haupt Premien Champion at the 2009 Oldenburg
Stallion Licensing.
Fürst
Romancier sired the most
expensive foal at the Vechta Elite
auction 2009 (€ 45,000), and the most expensive dressage foal at
the Ankum AOS auction in 2008. He also sired the 2 year old champion of
the Oldenburger stallion licensing in Vechta in 2011, For Romance, he
was sold in the auction for 750,000 euro's.
In june 2012, as a 3 year old, Copacabana was shown at the mare
inspection and mare
performance test at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta, where
she
was awarded the Oldenburger
Verbandsprämie.

Vechta.
In june 2014 a half sister of Copacabana was awarded STER at the KWPN
mare keuring with 80 points for constitution and 80 points for
movements: Garnier
(by Blue Hors Zack out of Carolita II).
Copacabana turns out to be a
very
promising dressage horse with an excellent mind. She will have a career
as a dressage horse, but we intend to breed her
in the future as well. (See also 'news' 1, 2,3) |
